What is Modern Quilting?  Modern quilts are primarily functional and inspired by modern design. Several characteristics that often appear include but are not limited to the use of bold colors and prints, high contrast and graphic areas of solid color, alternative grid work, improv piecing, expansive use of negative space and minimalism. Sometimes a modern quilt might also include a twist or an update to a classic design.
We could tell you more but we'd rather show you!

Community Outreach Quilts

Community Outreach quilts are created to benefit charities or nonprofit groups locally or nationally. The guild members work together to design, sew and quilt their entry for that year's QuiltCon based on a theme and a palette determined by the Modern Quilt Guild, our umbrella guild and organizer of QuiltCon. The quilts are not judged but are displayed in a special QuiltCon exhibit. They can be sold there or locally via the method the guild chooses.
